So back in May Miranda got us tix for the Brad Sherwood/Colin Mochrie show in Lakeland, which finally came around last night. I’m a huge Whose Line Is It Anyway? fan, dating all the way back to the original Brit version on Comedy Central. But I also really dig the Drew Carey version on ABC Fam currently playing. And Brad Sherwood is my favorite comic on WLIIA, so I was pumped about this show.
And let me just say, they did not disappoint. We spent over 2 1/2 hours laughing our faces off, and had great seats (2nd row, in the orchestra pit RIGHT in front of the stage). The entire night was full of them taking audience suggestions and acting them out using various WLIIA games. Of course, as someone who does public speaking for a living I was blown away by their stage presence and improv genius.
At one point we wrote down suggestions of sentences for them to use and I put down something Justin says all the time (hey, I know a few comics myself).
All in all, a GREAT night. Of course, any night that ends with two blindfolded comics walking around barefoot on a stage full of loaded mousetraps singing opera has a chance for greatness.
