Just grabbing a few random thoughts as they float by in my noggin:
Helping is cool. Just had lunch with a pastor across town who wanted to “pick my brain” about some of the things we’re doing. It’s fun to help others, even when it’s sharing what you did wrong.
Systems are important. I’ll be speaking tonight at our group leaders huddle, and I’ll be vision-casting some changes to our family group strategy. We believe that a great system will make it easier to lead. Which will, in turn, enable more people to be leaders. Funny how that works…
Speaking of speaking. I’m speaking 7 times over the next 2 weeks, including a men’s retreat and a college-age worship service. And, because I’ll be skiing for a few days in the middle of it all, I’m really struggling to find preparation time for those opportunities. I’m always thankful for the chance to speak, but want to be well-prepared and do a good job.
My throat is my enemy. I went to the doctor AGAIN yesterday for a nagging cough, which makes about the sixth time in as many months. Got more antibiotics AGAIN. But, he also scheduled a breathing test for me this afternoon to try and find out why I keep having problems. I think it’s just Noah going through a sickness phase, and sharing the wealth with me & Miranda.
My wife is hott. Just felt the need to say that. I noticed when she left for work this morning that she really puts herself together well. And I can’t wait to see her later…
