Quick – tell me where Jesus’ headquarters was. The address he operated from.

Can’t do it? That’s because he didn’t have one.

When the Son of God came to the world, we really mean that he came to the world. He didn’t wait for the world to come to him.

How did we miss this?

Why has the church (yeah, even the relevant ones) tried to build bigger and better and cooler stuff without ever going to get the people who need it?

We watch them drive right by us every Sunday, and become discouraged. Why not go to where they are?

Don’t get me wrong. We need a location to meet at regularly. And ultimately we want these unreached folks to come there. But maybe we’ve missed an intermediate step. Maybe part of our ‘build & bring’ strategy should include infiltrating their turf.

We’ve had some opportunities recently to do this, but we’re going to be intentional about making more. Because Jesus did it. And because it makes sense.

Got any ideas for infiltrating our community? Let’s talk about it.

I’m with you. This has bothered me for a while. This is one of the reasons I still try to hang out with my unchurched friends, even if the location doesn’t have a cross on the door.

Dude, I am jumping and shouting! This is what our new church plant is all about. It is so cool to see another pastor talking about this kind of thing. We need to get together and share ideas.

You want an answer you got it. Calling all Ridgepoint doers. My school is having a fall festival on Friday, October 24th from 5:30-8:00. Ridgepoint has a booth and so do several of the businesses from the Ridgepoint family. If you want to see where the rubber meets the road, here it is. My school has about 850 kids so this is gonna be a great chance to do exactly what this post is all about. Please contact me if you are interseted.

Take out an add at Bubba’s Mud Ranch or Auburndale Speedway. Call Eddie Langley, 412-3012

The local sports fields. Sertoma Park, Westwood, Auburndale, Eagle Lake ect… Sponsor teams and put signs on the fields. I think it would really be cool! However, the tough part is to recruit christian coaches to coach teams if we sponsor them! Some may think that in itself is impossible! But we could still put our sign on th fence. Example: Sertoma Baseball $300.00 for three years for one 4′ x 8′ banner on the field of your choice.

We could start a volunteer corp at the church. Just a group of people that are interested in community service, andthen offer our services in the community. Volunteer at the animal shelter or the hospice or anywhere a few times per month. That way, we are helping the community and spreading our church’s name around. I think it would be cool.
