The Cat’s Out Of The Bag

Posted: June 10, 2009 in celebration, church life

It’s been officially announced so I can go ahead and say it:

This guy is coming on staff at RPC this fall.

This is something Travis and I have been working on for awhile, trying to figure out how we could afford it and trying to talk him into doing it.

In the end, God provided the money AND talked him into it.

JJ and I have been tight since we started CCC together in 1996 (they’ll be thrilled that I linked to them).  I’ve kept in touch with him, which says a lot.  We do lunch together once a month or so.  And we’ve always had a dream of working together.

He knows the RPC story, and his heart shares our vision.  His family is incredible, and I can’t wait for you to meet them.  His wife is the tops, and the reason he is who he is (she was at CCC with us).  They have an inspiring adoption story, which they’ll share with RPC.

Our Staff, Executive Team, and Trustees are as excited as I am.  I’ll blog more about it in the coming weeks, but wanted to go ahead and make it official.

He and his family will be here the first of August. I’m stoked beyond words.

In 7 weeks, it’s on like Donkey Kong.

Okay, we are excited too. But it’s on like Donkey Kong? What are we getting ourselves into?

  2. I heard they can be a troublesome lot!

Yay!!! I get a baby and JJ and his family all in the same month!! God is Good :)

I am so excited!!! It is amazing how God works things out in His time :-)

  5. Tammy McCue says:

Really glad that this is taking place. I know that he has built a successful ministry for the youth in Pinellas Co. and know that great things will happen at RPC. Looking forward to getting to know JJ, Beth and the kids better.
