Taking Breaks, part 1

Posted: June 30, 2010 in vacation

Since my family & I leave today for a week of fishing, I thought we’d spend some time while I’m gone discussing the importance of rest and the need for vacation.  Unfortunately, many Americans view vacations and time off as a luxury instead of a necessity.  But even in a down economy it’s possible to find inexpensive ways to get away, even if it’s for a few days.  Over the next few days I’ll post some of the reasons I’ve learned over the years why vacation is an important investment, and not to be ignored.

Oh, and don’t worry – I’m practicing what I’m preaching.  These posts were pre-written and scheduled ahead of time.  In fact, the island where we’re going doesn’t even have internet access.  And I kind of like it that way.

So what’s your vacation this year?  Where are you going?  For how long?

I want some more info on cheap vacations. That sounds pretty cool. One thing we tried this year was watching a DVD of the beach and haveing a picnic in the living room and then taking a nap instead of paying money to go to a hotel/beach to do the same thing. it was actuallly a lot cooler than I thought.
